Arrive in Inírida, gateway to the Matavén reserve. If time allows, visit Kenke Natural and Cultural Park for an introduction to Amazonian traditions, cassava cultivation, and a tasting of local fruits. Overnight at Cabaña Guainiana eco-lodge.

Navigate the Inírida and Orinoco rivers, stopping at the Estrella Fluvial — a Ramsar site of extraordinary biodiversity. Swim in the Atabapo River and admire tepui rock formations like Castillito. Enter Caño Matavén and arrive at the Piaroa community of La Urbana for a traditional welcome.

Paddle along Caño Matavén, often accompanied by pink river dolphins. Hike up Cerro Matavén, passing pictographs, caves, and endemic plants. Enjoy panoramic views of the Orinoco basin before descending to Piedra Pintada community. In the afternoon, learn Piaroa gastronomy by preparing casabe and mañoco.

Explore the unique flooded savannas and forests of Matavén — a landscape only possible during the rainy season. Visit a traditional farm (conuco) to taste Amazonian fruits, then continue to Pueblo Nuevo for a showcase of Piaroa handicrafts. Return to La Urbana for traditional games or a farewell ceremony.
